General Electric Co. (GE) posted a fourth quarter profit of $0.36 per share, topping the consensus view of $0.32 per share. The conglomerate pulled in revenue of $41.4 billion, which also beat Wall Street’s expectations ($39.9 billion). The results sent shares up more than 2% in pre-market trading.
Earnings from continuing operations were up 31% compared to last year’s Q4 figure, while revenue rose a little less than 1%. For the full year, GE earned $12.6 billion from continuing operations on total revenue of $150.2 billion, up 15% and down 3% compared to 2009, respectively.
Shares of GE rose to $18.85 (+2.28%) in pre-market trading, where they feature a 2.97% dividend yield.
