Stocks to Watch for Dec. 17: EK, ENER, MOT, UTA

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) broke out today to a new 52-week high on strong volume. The stock cleared resistance at $8.68 and appears ready to make a nice advance. This should be the first part of a bigger move, which is why I will be watching the stock closely on Friday. My target is $9.76. Expect some resistance near $9.29.

Universal Travel Group (NYSE:UTA) produced a good bounce from the $6.06 level today. If the bounce continues tomorrow look for new long positions in the $6.25-6.35 zone. The MACD on the daily chart is nearing a new buy signal. Keep in mind that the technical chart below shows a possible inverted head and shoulders pattern formation with a neckline at $7. We will have to wait and see.
