General Motors (GM) released today (Friday) its sales figures for the month of April. The Detroit automaker said its sales dropped 33.7% last month compared to a year ago. GM dealers sold 173,007 vehicles in April.
From WXYZ: From a retail standpoint, GM and the industry continued at about the same selling rate as February and March. We see that stabilization, along with a firming up of our fleet business and improvement in Silverado and Sierra sales, as an encouraging sign,” said Mark LaNeve, vice president of GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing, in a statement.
GM also reported that its four core brands performed strongly compared to the month of March, with Chevrolet sales up 22%, Cadillac sales increased 2%, GMC sales were up 7% and Buick sales were up 21%.
