Earnings Whisper: Visa (V), Clorox (CLX), Sysco (SYY), Noble Energy (NBL), Diamond Offshore Drilling (DO)

Visa Inc. (V) is set to report earnings for the fourth-quarter of 2015 before the markets open today. Wall Street analysts are on average expecting the credit card company to post $3.57 billion in sales during the quarter. This would show a 1.42% increase from the Q315 revenue of $3.52 billion, and an increase of 11.56% from the same period in Q414. EPS in Q415 are expected to come in at $0.63, a growth rate of 19% from $0.53 per share a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.65 per share.

As a quick reminder, Visa reported Q315 EPS of $0.74, $0.15 better than the Street’s consensus estimate. Revs increased 11.39% year-over-year to $3.52 billion versus the $3.36 billion consensus.

The Clorox Company (CLX) is set to report its 2016 fiscal first-quarter earnings today before the markets open. Analysts expect the manufacturer of consumer and professional products to report EPS of $1.18 and revenue of $1.38 billion. That would be $0.26 lower the $1.44 per share posted last quarter and $0.08 higher the $1.10 posted in the Q115. Revenue is projected to be $30 million higher than the $1.35 billion posted in the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $1.24 per share.

As a quick reminder, CLX reported Q415 EPS of $1.44, $0.07 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $1.37. Revs increased 3.31% year-over-year to $1.56 billion versus the $1.52 billion consensus.

On valuation measures, Clorox Co. shares are currently priced at 27.88x this year’s forecasted earnings. Ticker has a t-12 price/sales ratio of 2.79. EPS for the same period registers at $4.37.

As for passive income investors, the company pays stockholders $3.08 per share annually in dividends, yielding 2.51%.

Sysco Corporation (SYY) is scheduled to release Q116 earnings before the open today. The Street is looking for EPS of $0.52 and revenue of $12.58 billion. Last quarter, the company reported EPS of $0.52, $0.01, or 1.96%, better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.51. Revs increased 0.90% year-over-year to $12.4 billion vs the $12.29 billion reported. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.53 per share.

Noble Energy, Inc. (NBL) is expected to report third-quarter 2015 earnings today before the open. The Street has consensus estimates of ($0.17) in earnings per share and $962.2 million in revenue. In the Q3 of the previous year, the Houston Texas-based energy company posted $0.28 in EPS and $1.27 billion in revenue. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of ($0.16) per share.

As a quick reminder, NBL reported Q215 EPS of $0.26, $0.21 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.05. Revs decreased 47.10% on a year-over-year basis to $730 million vs the $889.74 million consensus.

NBL closed at $35.84 on Friday and is currently trading up $0.74.

In the past 52 weeks, Noble shares have traded between a low of $29.13 and a high of $58.20 and are now trading at $35.84.

Shares are down 35.98% year-over-year and 23.09% year-to-date.

Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (DO) will announce its third-quarter 2015 financial results today before the open of the U.S. financial markets. The Street is on average expecting the provider of contract drilling services to the energy industry to post $594.55 million in sales during the quarter. This would show a 6.22% decrease from the Q215 revenue of $634 million, and a decrease of 19.44% from the same period in Q314. EPS in Q315 are expected to come in at $0.60, a decline rate of 24% from $0.79 per share a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.62 per share.

As a quick reminder, DO reported Q215 EPS of $0.66, $0.19 better than the Street’s consensus estimate. Revs decreased 8.41% YoY to $634 million versus the $605.37 million consensus.
