Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) is scheduled to report Q415 results after the market close today. The Street has consensus estimates of $0.43 in earnings per share and $4.9 billion in revenue. In the Q4 of the previous year, the Seattle, Washington-based retailer of specialty coffee posted $0.37 in EPS and $4.2 billion in revenue. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.44 per share.
As a quick reminder, Starbucks reported Q315 EPS of $0.42, $0.01 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.41. Revs increased 16.67% on a year-over-year basis to $4.9 billion versus the $4.86 billion consensus.
After markets close Thursday afternoon, SolarCity Corporation (SCTY) is scheduled to report third-quarter 2015 results. The Street is looking for EPS of ($1.95) and revenue of $111.43 million. Last quarter, the manufacturer of solar energy systems posted a negative earnings surprise of 85.35%, reporting EPS of ($0.23), $1.34 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of ($1.57). Revs however, increased 170.88% year-over-year to $102.8 million versus the $37.95 million reported. Meanwhile, for the third-quarter EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of ($1.99) per share.
The Western Union Company (WU) is set to announce its Q315 earnings after the market close on Thursday, October 29. Analysts expect the payment services provider to report earnings per share of $0.44 and revenue of $1.41 billion. That would be $0.08 higher the $0.36 per share posted last quarter and flat year-over-year. Revenue is projected to be $30 million lower than the $1.44 billion posted in the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.46 per share.
As a quick reminder, WU reported Q215 EPS of $0.36, $0.03 lower than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.39. Revs decreased 0.71% year-over-year to $1.4 billion versus the $1.36 billion consensus.
Western Union was down $0.15 at $19.44 in morning trade, moving within a 52-week range of $16.34 to $22.84. The name, valued at $9.94 billion, opened at $19.54.
On valuation measures, Western Union Co. shares are currently priced at 12.05x this year’s forecasted earnings. Ticker has a t-12 price/sales ratio of 1.80. EPS for the same period registers at $1.61.
As for passive income investors, the firm pays stockholders $0.62 per share annually in dividends, yielding 3.16%.
