Apple’s long-awaited fall event is less than 48 hours away, and the company has already begun putting up decorations for it. The special media event, which is expected to bring a smaller 7.85-inch, A5 dual-core processor, 1GB RAM iPad, takes place at the California Theatre in San Jose, CA instead of typical locations like the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco or Apple’s own Town Hall and kicks off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific / 1:00 p.m. Eastern. According to Mercury News, Apple last used this venue to introduce its first iPod products back in 2004 and 2005.
The iPhone-maker sent out invitations last week with the tagline “We’ve got a little more to show you.” While the invites didn’t hint at what will be revealed, the special media event is widely expected to see the unveiling of the much anticipated iPad Mini – a smaller, cheaper version of the hugely successful tablet, but could also see a new 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro and even a new iMac and Mac Mini models.
The timing of the event, which comes roughly one month after September’s iPhone 5 announcement, is believed to have been carefully thought out by Cupertino, as it is scheduled to take place three days before Microsoft (MSFT)’s Surface tablet goes on sale, and a day before Amazon (AMZN)’s Kindle Fire tablet launches in the UK.
So again, the 23rd is the big day for Apple during which the world’s most valuable company becomes once again the focus of the tech universe.
