Four Spanish Banks Seek To Combine €135 bln in Assets

Four Spanish banks on Monday submitted a plan to combine their businesses in a move that would create the country’s fifth largest lender, according to a report from Bloomberg Businessweek. According to the report, citing one of the banks, Caja Mediterraneo, Grupo Cajastur, Caja Extremadura and Caja Cantabria want to form a bank with 135 billion euros in assets – MW
