New York Fed announced a new set of standards it will use in its dealings with banks and securities firms known as primary dealers. Fed will now require primary dealers to hold at least $150 million in net capital, up from $50 million. The firm also have to show that it has engaged in businesses relevant to primary dealer operations for at least a year.
