Price Target Changed: Tesla Motors (TSLA), TASER International (TASR), Vale S.A. (VALE), Microchip Technology (MCHP)

Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) was reiterated as ‘Sell’ with a $160 from $140 price target on Thursday by UBS. On trading-measure, TSLA has a beta of 1.10 and a short float of 29,074,300. In the past 52 weeks, Tesla stock shares have traded between a low of $141.05 and a high of $286.65 with its 50-day MA and 200-day MA located at $242.51 and $216.15 levels, respectively.

TSLA currently prints a one year loss of about 4.46% and a year-to-date loss of around 7.27%. Tesla’s shares are down $10.76, or over 4.83%, at $211.80.

TASER International Inc. (TASR) rating of ‘Buy’ was reiterated today at Dougherty & Company with a price target increase of $23 from $21 (versus a $17.66 previous close). TASR shares are currently priced at 51.23x this year’s forecasted earnings, which makes them relatively expensive compared to the industry’s 22.04x earnings multiple. The company’s current year and next year EPS growth estimates stand at (27.80%) and 88.50% compared to the industry growth rates of (10.30%) and 17.40%, respectively. TASR has a t-12 price/sales ratio of 4.79. EPS for the same period registers at 0.36.

Vale S.A. (VALE) was reiterated a ‘Market Perform’ by Cowen analysts on Thursday. The broker also raised its price target on the stock to $6 from $3. Vale stock, currently valued at $24.22B, has a median Wall Street price target of $4.22 with a high target of $10.00. Approximately 42.02M shares have already changed hands, compared to the stock’s average daily volume of 37.02M.

In the past 52 weeks, Vale shares have traded between a low of $2.13 and a high of $8.19 with the 50-day MA and 200-day MA located at $4.80 and $3.71 levels, respectively. Additionally, shares of VALE have a Relative Strength Index (RSI) and MACD indicator of 44.47 and (0.48), respectively.

Microchip Technology Inc. (MCHP) was reiterated as ‘Buy’ and the price target was increased to $60 from $54 at Stifel. MCHP stock closed at $48.42 on Wednesday and is currently trading down $0.49. In the past 52 weeks, shares of the company have traded between a low of $37.77 and a high of $50.71 and are now trading at $47.93. Shares are up 5.12% year-over-year and 4.92% year-to-date.
