Morning Buzz: Apple Inc. (AAPL), Tesla (TSLA), FedEx (FDX), Valspar (VAL)

Shares of Apple Inc. (AAPL) are higher by 0.73% to $106.69 in late morning trading on Monday before the tech giant holds a product event set to begin at 10 p.m. ET. Apple is expected to launch an updated small-form iPhone rumored to be called the SE, as well as a new version of the iPad.

Shares of Tesla Motors (TSLA) jumped 2.5% to $238 and change in early trading Monday following an upgrade to ‘Buy’ from ‘Hold’ and $333 PT at Argus. The firm believes the electric car maker has made progress in addressing production and cost issues and that it “is poised for a much stronger performance” in FY16.

FedEx Corporation (FDX) shares are marginally down to $163.73 in midday trading despite a positive article in this weekend’s edition of Barron’s saying the name has got another 15% to 20% upside in a year.

The Valspar Corporation (VAL) shares spiked 24.49% to $104.36 in midday trading after the company announced its acquisition by Sherwin-Williams (SHW) for $113 per share.
