Notable Downgrades: Apple (AAPL), United Technologies (UTX), Akamai (AKAM), Tyco (TYC), Stone Energy Corp. (SGY)

Analysts at Rosenblatt downgraded Apple Inc. (AAPL) from ‘Buy’ to ‘Neutral’ in a research report issued to clients on Wednesday. The firm believes iPhone 6S sales have slowed down during the holiday season reaching high market inventory levels. The target price for AAPL is lowered from $140 to $102.

United Technologies Corporation (UTX) was downgraded from ‘Buy’ to ‘Neutral’ at Sterne Agee CRT.

Shares have traded today between $93.48 and $94.64 with the price of the stock fluctuating between $85.50 to $124.45 over the last 52 weeks.

United Technologies Corp. shares are currently changing hands at 14.47x this year’s forecasted earnings, compared to the industry’s 2.05x earnings multiple. Ticker has a t-12 price/sales ratio of 1.33. EPS for the same period registers at $6.47.

Shares of United Tech Corp have lost $2.08 to $93.64 in midday trading on Wednesday, giving it a market cap of roughly $83 billion. The stock traded as high as $124.45 in Feb. 20, 2015.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (AKAM) was reiterated as ‘Buy’ with a $65 from $74 price target on Wednesday by UBS.

AKAM recently traded at $50.87, a loss of $1.15 over Tuesday’s closing price. The name has a current market capitalization of $9.05 billion.

RBC Capital Markets reported on Wednesday that they have lowered their rating for Tyco International plc (TYC). The firm has downgraded TYC from ‘Outperform’ to ‘Sector Perform’ and lowered its price target to $34 from $41.

Tyco International recently traded at $30.95, a loss of $0.46 over Tuesday’s closing price. The name has a current market capitalization of $13.08 billion.

As for passive income investors, the company pays shareholders $0.82 per share annually in dividends, yielding 2.57%. Five year average dividend yield currently stands at 1.95%.

Stone Energy Corp. (SGY) was downgraded by FBR Capital from an ‘Outperform’ rating to a ‘Market Perform’ rating in a research report issued to clients on Wednesday.

SGY closed at $4.26 on Tuesday and is currently trading down $0.71.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of Lafayette, Louisiana-based oil and natural gas company have traded between a low of $3.06 and a high of $19.65 and are now trading at $3.56.

Shares are down 72.83% year-over-year.
