Research In Motion (RIMM) Unveils BlackBerry Torch, Its First Touchscreen Device

BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) unveiled its first touchscreen device with a slide-out keyboard, which runs on revamped software, an attempt to bolster its standing in the race for high-end consumer smartphones. The new handset, the BlackBerry Torch 9800, will launch as an exclusive through carrier partner AT&T Inc (T). It will be available in stores Aug. 12 and retail for $199.99, with a two-year service agreement. – WSJ
