Networking giant Cisco Systems (CSCO) said Tuesday it plans to launch an iPad-like device that caters to business users.
At 1.15 lbs, the device named Cius, is a 7-inch, Wifi, 3G ultra-portable tablet that allows HD videoconferencing and runs Google’s (GOOG) Android OS, making it an open platform for communication and collaboration.
Cisco said the Cius will be offered in the first quarter of 2011.
The co. hasn’t announced pricing yet, though CTO Padmasree Warrior tweeted that it will cost less than $1,000.
Cisco lost 80 cents, or 3.57%, to $21.63 at 3:00 E.T. in Nasdaq composite trading.
