Morning Buzz: Dow Chemical (DOW), DuPont (DD), Prima Biomed (PBMD), SunEdison (SUNE), GoPro (GPRO)

Dow Chemical (DOW), DuPont (DD) – Both companies announced in a joint press release that are combining in a $130 billion merger. The all-stock agreement, one of the largest deals in the history of business, calls for the creation of a new company, DowDuPont, which is expected to be broken into three independent publicly traded companies focused on agriculture, material science and specialty products.

After the deal was announced Friday morning, Dow shares fell 2.20% to $53.70 in pre-market trading to $55.44 and DuPont shares fell 5.53% to $70.43.

Shares of Prima Biomed Ltd. (PBMD) are higher by nearly 6% to $1.27 in pre-market trading on Friday after the company announced progress in its collaboration with NEC Corporation and Yamaguchi University in Japan. In this collaboration, first announced in May 2015, Prima’s IMP321 Antigen Presenting Cell activator is being combined with a therapeutic vaccine for different carcinoma types.

Yamaguchi University said it intends progressing the IMP321 vaccine into clinical research.

SunEdison, Inc. (SUNE) shares surged 6.60% to $4.36 in pre-market trading after the company announced that it has agreed to sell 333 megawatts of wind-power assets to Terra Nova Renewable Partners for $209.

After surging as much as 16 percent on Thursday, GoPro, Inc. (GPRO) was indicated 1.50 percent lower in pre-market trading following the name’s pick from FBR’s Dan Ives as one of the major possible acquisition targets for Apple Inc (AAPL) in 2016.

“We believe an acquisition of GoPro would make sense for Apple; action cameras are uniquely positioned at the intersection of Apple’s smartphone, wearables, and multimedia offerings,” Ives wrote in a note.
