Trader’s Buzz: 3M Company (MMM), SanDisk Corp. (SNDK), Egalet Corporation (EGLT), Oi SA (OIBR)

Shares of 3M Company (MMM) are up $1.60, or 1.3%, at $165.16 in late trading on Thursday, after UBS initiated coverage of the stock with a ‘Buy’ rating and a $195 price target, writing the new management has been implementing new operating and capital structure strategies with significant benefits for shareholders.

On valuation-measures, shares of 3M Company have a trailing-12 and forward P/E of 22.62 and 20.05, respectively. P/E to growth ratio is 1.90, while t-12 profit margin is 15.41%. EPS registers at $7.28. The company has a market cap of $105.60B and a median Wall Street price target of $157.50 with a high target of $190.00.

On trading-measure, MMM has a beta of 1.21 and a short float of 1.49%. In the past 52 weeks, shares of St. Paul, Minnesota-based diversified technology company have traded between a low of $123.61 and a high of $168.16 with its 50-day MA and 200-day MA located at $162.12 and $149.91 levels, respectively.

MMM currently prints a one year return of about 21.53%, compared with a 11.14% gain in the S&P 500.

SanDisk Corp. (SNDK) dropped intraday to its lowest level since April 2014 after the maker of data-storage chips yesterday projected Q1 sales of $1.4 billion to $1.45 billion, missing analysts’ average estimate of $1.6 billion. The company also said it was losing a major customer from using SanDisk products. Some analysts today said it could be Apple Inc (AAPL).

SNDK shares recently lost $1.37 to $79.07. The stock is up more than 13.30% year-over-year but has lost roughly 18% year-to-date. In the past 52 weeks, shares of Milpitas, California-based firm have traded between a low of $66.80 and a high of $108.77.

SanDisk Corp. has a current market cap of $17.45B. Day’s range: $74.30 – $79.29

Shares of Egalet Corporation (EGLT) are higher by over 20% to $5.92 in late trading on Thursday, as the stock continues to see gains following positive top-line results from oral human abuse liability [HAL] study of abuse-deterrent morphine, Egalet-001. Egalet said the clinical HAL study demonstrated that in nondependent, recreational opioid users, the abuse potential of manipulated Egalet-001 taken orally was significantly lower than that for manipulated MS Contin (morphine sulfate controlled-release).

EGLT’s today move comes on a big volume with the issue currently trading more than 130K shares, compared to the average volume of 11,984 shares. In the past 52 weeks, shares of the company, currently with a total market cap of $95.79M, have traded between a low of $3.81 and a high of $19.85.

Shares of Brazilian telecommunications company Oi SA (OIBR) rose 19% to $2.90 in late trading Thursday, after Reuters reported that Oi SA, Portugal Telecom’s merger partner and a leading shareholder, will not be able to vote in Thursday’s shareholder assembly to approve the sale of PT’s former operations to Altice.

Oi SA shares are up 56% year-over-year ; down 8.46% year-to-date.
