Obama: U.S. Commitment to Israel Is ‘Ironclad’

President Barack Obama told the nation’s largest pro-Israel lobby that the U.S. commitment to Israel’s security is “ironclad” while warning that the upheaval in the Middle East demands a new urgency from the Jewish state in pursuing peace with Palestinians. “Delay will undermine Israel’s security and the peace that the Israeli people deserve,” Obama said in an address today to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in Washington. Obama repeated that the template for an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians should use the 1967 borders as a starting point in peace talks. – Bloomberg
