EU Commission Denies Report of Plan to Ban US-Produced Credit Ratings

A European Commission spokesman Thursday denied a report in German newspaper Handelsblatt that said the European Union aims to ban credit ratings produced in the U.S.

“We have no plans of this kind,” the spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires. Meanwhile, Moody’s Corp. (MCO) and The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. (MHP) continue trading lower on concerns of rating ban.
