The NY Post reports that there are whispers Mayor Bloomberg might be a consideration for Tim Geithner’s replacement. “Insiders say multibillionaire Bloomberg, who was on the short list for the gig in 2008, has the star power and credibililty to help Obama. “It’s been the focus of a lot of discussion,” said one Democrat. “He’s very well-liked and well-respected on Wall Street.” But a spokesman for Bloomberg poured cold water on the Post piece, saying that “the Mayor hasn’t had a boss in almost 30 years. He has zero interest in Treasury and is one of Geithner’s biggest supporters.”
