A judge will soon decide whether a fraud case against former Countrywide boss Angelo Mozilo can go to trial, one of the highest profile attempts by regulators to hold a top exec accountable for actions leading up to the financial crisis. At the same time, federal prosecutors still have an open criminal investigation into Mozilo, according to sources familiar with the situation.
