The Canadian Economy Unexpectedly Sheds 9300 Jobs In July

Canadian employment dropped slightly in July after six months of strong gains, losing 9,300 jobs, most of them full-time positions, Statistics Canada reported Friday. The unemployment rate rose to 8% in July from 7.9% the previous month, the federal agency said.
