Executive Sentenced to 30 Years in $1.9 Billion Fraud Case

Lance Poulsen of National Century Financial Enterprises, the founder of a failed health-care financing company, was sentenced Friday to 30 years in a $1.9 billion corporate fraud. Judge Algenon Marbley of Federal District Court said the executive, Lance Poulsen, was “the architect of a fraud of such magnitude that it would make a sophisticated analyst shudder.” Judge Marbley also called Mr. Poulsen the “puppet master” of the National Century fraud and said he deserved a much harsher sentence than his co-defendants.
