Citing manufacturing problems, Apple Inc. (AAPL) today announced that the release of white iPhone 4s will be delayed.
“White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July,” Apple said in a brief statement.
The iPhone 4 is slated for general release on Thursday. Apple said that black iPhone availability is not affected.
The Cupertino-based company announced last week that it hit a home run with its iPhone 4 pre-orders, selling 600,000 units on the first day it made that option available.
Shares of Apple fell $4.00, or 1.41%, to $269.83 in recent trading.
