The Bank of Canada Raises Its Key Interest Rate

The Bank of Canada raised its key interest rate from a record low today, the first Group of Seven central bank to do so since last year’s global recession. The target rate on overnight loans between commercial banks rose to 0.5 percent from 0.25 percent – Bloomberg
