SCTE President/CEO Resigns

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), a non-profit professional association that provides technical leadership for the telecommunications industry and serves its members through professional development, standards, certification and information – announced today that John Clark, SCTE president/CEO, is leaving his position with the Society effective this Friday, July 4, 2008, to pursue other interests.

Tom Gorman, chairman of the SCTE Board of Directors, in his speech, thanked John Clark for all he had done for SCTE after entering into the important leadership role of president 10 years ago.

A search committee has been formed, and a search for Clark’s replacement will begin immediately. The committee will be chaired by Frank Eichenlaub, who is western vice chair of the SCTE Board of Directors.

Meanwhile, Marv Nelson a 28-year veteran of the cable telecommunications industry and SCTE vice president, professional development , has been appointed interim president/CEO, effective immediately.
