Bernie Madoff Moved From Jail to Prison Hospital

Ponzi King Bernie Madoff  has been moved from  the Butner Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, N.C., where he is serving a 150-year jail sentence, to a prison medical facility, according to media reports Wednesday.

Madoff, 71, who is serving the prison term after pleading guilty to a $65 billion fraud, was moved December 18 to Butner Federal Medical Center, which is part of the prison complex.

It’s not clear why the man behind the biggest Ponzi scheme in history was moved.

Madoff was arrested in December 2008 and sentenced in June.
