Analyst Downgrades: G-III Apparel (GIII), Canadian Solar (CSIQ), PTC Therapeutics (PTCT), The Valspar Corp. (VAL)

G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. (GIII) rating of ‘Buy’ was reiterated today at Wunderlich with a price target decrease of $62 from $80 (versus a $47.97 previous close). GIII was down $0.20 at $47.77 in mid-day trade, moving within a 52-week range of $40.41 to $73.93. The name, valued at $2.15 billion, opened at $48.02.

Standpoint Research reported on Wednesday that they have lowered their rating for Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ). The firm has downgraded CSIQ from ‘Buy’ to ‘Hold’. CSIQ recently traded at $22.48, a gain of $0.63 over Tuesday’s closing price. The name has a current market capitalization of $1.26 billion.

Analysts at Jefferies downgraded PTC Therapeutics, Inc. (PTCT) from ‘Hold’ to ‘Underperform’ in a research report issued to clients on Wednesday. PTCT, currently with a median Wall Street price target of $84.50 and a high target of $135.00, dropped $1.33 to $30.42 in recent trading.

The Valspar Corporation (VAL) had its rating lowered from ‘Sector Perform’ to ‘Underperform’ by analysts at RBC Capital Markets on Wednesday. The firm sees shares as fairly valued at $80 to $82, versus $85.37 close. Currently there are 7 analysts that rate VAL a ‘Buy’, 2 analysts rate it a ‘Sell’, and 9 rate it a ‘Hold’.

VAL was down $1.40 at $83.97 in mid-day trade, moving within a 52-week range of $70.58 to $90.91. The name, valued at $6.67 billion, opened at $83.15.
