52-Week Highs: Vimicro (VIMC), Omnicare (OCR), Sequenom Inc. (SQNM), Mellanox (MLNX), Novatel Wireless (MIFI)

Shares of Vimicro International Corp. (VIMC) hit a new 52-week high on Wednesday, printing the tape at $13.80. That’s a 465.57% rise, or $11.36 per share from the 52-week low of $2.44 set in July 1, 2014.

The stock closed at $12.11 at the end of Tuesday’s trading session, printing a one-year return of about 251% and year-to-date return of around 102%.

VIMC is trading at unusually high volume Wednesday with 1.20 million shares changing hands. It is currently at more than 3x its average daily volume and trading up 11.23% at $13.47 as of 3:24 PM ET. The average volume of shares traded over the last three months was roughly 483K.

Stock reaction: OCR shares have performed well over the last year, rising 41.18%. The company’s stock is up 47% from the 52-week-low of $57.14 it reached on April 23, 2014.

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (MLNX) climbed 4.43% to a 52-week high of $50.44 on Wednesday. The move comes on a big volume too with the issue currently trading more than 1.30 million shares, compared to the average volume of 41K shares.

Shares of MLNX rose 3.11% to $49.80 in afternoon trading. The 52-week range for the stock is now $30.58 to $50.44. Shares of the 2.28 billion market cap company have risen 29.53% year-over-year and 13.04% year-to-date.

Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) shares hit one-year high of $4.57 in today’s trading session. The stock has risen 65.66% this year and is continuing its upward trend.

Novatel Wireless Inc. (MIFI) shares touched a new 52-week high of $6.65. MIFI shares have jumped a staggering 207.81% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.58% in the same period.

The San Diego California-based firm has a market cap of 299.06 million.
