Fast Money Picks: Fortinet Inc (FTNT), Merck & Co. (MRK), Amazon (AMZN), Ford Motor Company (F)

On CNBC’s Fast Money Halftime Report, Optionmonster co-founder Jon Najarian said he picked Fortinet Inc (FTNT) as this week’s final trade. Shares of Fortinet gained 1.14% and closed at $25.73 on Friday, after rising as much as 6% the previous session.

On valuation measures, Fortinet shares are currently priced at 142.94x this year’s forecasted earnings compared to the industry’s 4.51x earnings multiple. Ticker has a PEG and forward P/E ratio of 3.38 and 43.61, respectively. Price/sales for the same period is 5.78 while EPS is $0.18. Currently there are 15 analysts that rate FTNT a ‘Buy’, while 9 rate it a ‘Hold’. No analysts rate it a ‘Sell’. FTNT has a median Wall Street price target of $30.00 with a high target of $32.00.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of the Sunnyvale, California-based network security solutions provider have traded between a low of $16.29 and a high of $26.84. Shares are up 23.46% year-over-year and 34.50% year-to-date.

Options guru Pete Najarian said he likes Merck & Co. (MRK). On Friday, Merck printed a lower than average trading volume with the issue trading 8.6M shares, compared to the average volume of 9.57M shares. The stock began trading at $56.79 to finish the session up $0.98, or 1.73%, from the prior days close of $56.63. On an intraday basis it got as low as $56.63 and as high as $57.66.

MRK currently prints a one year return of about 29%, and a year-to-date return of around 18%.

Josh Brown of Ritholtz Wealth Management said he would sell the rallies in Amazon.com (AMZN). The name plunged more than 26 points and closed at $287.06 on Friday, a day after the e-commerce giant reported disappointing 3Q results and soft Q4 guidance. Meanwhile, Rosecliff Capital’s Mike Murphy said he likes Ford (F)’s 3.5% dividend yield and would be a buyer of the automaker’s stock. Ford dropped 4.31% on Friday after the earnings report. Volume was 91.9 million shares, more than triple the daily average.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of Dearborn, Michigan-based company have traded between a low of $13.26 and a high of $18.12 and are now at $13.78. Shares are down 20.16% year-over-year and 8.62% year-to-date.
