Microsoft shares, valued at $369.97 billion and currently priced at 16.82x this year’s forecasted earnings, opened at $45.07. In the past 52 weeks, shares of the software giant have traded between a low of $30.95 and a high of $45.71 and are now trading flat at $44.88. Shares are up 33.83% year-over-year, and 20.02% year-to-date.
XP Semiconductors NV (NXPI) will provide Apple (AAPL) with secure near-field communications technology for its next iPhone, according to FT, which cites several people familiar with the iphone-maker’s plans. Shares of the Dutch chip-maker trading in New York are up 1.70% following the report.
