In a report published Wednesday, Needham Capital Partners analysts upgraded their rating on Sypris Solutions Inc. (SYPR) shares from ‘Hold’ to ‘Buy’ and set a price target of $6.00 per share. In the report, Needham noted that SYPR’s electronics business, a segment which has affected the co.’s EPS negatively in the past, is showing signs of improvement in the Aerospace & Defense market. Needham believes these improvements should continue in the second half of fiscal 2015.
Sypris closed at $3.91 at the end of Tuesday’s trading session, printing a solid one-year return of about 19% and year-to-date return of around 27.78%. Ticker currently trades at a forward P/E of 9.91 and a P/E to growth ratio of 1.75. Price/Sales for the t-12 period is at 0.24 while EPS is negative at ($0.10). Needham’s target price suggests a potential upside of 53.45% from the company’s premarket trading price.
Other valuation measures show Sypris’ trailing-12 profit margin currently standing at (-0.56%) while operating ones are at (-0.34%). The $76 million market cap company reported $19.07 million in cash vs. $23.00 million in debt in its most recent quarter. SYPR has a 52 week low of $2.52 and a 52 week high of $6.50. The stock’s 50-day moving average is $5.22 and its 200-day moving average is $3.88.
