VMware, Inc. (VMW) is set to announce its Q116 earnings after the market close on Tuesday, April 19. Analysts expect the virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions provider to report earnings per share of $0.84 and revenue of $1.58 billion. That would be $0.42 lower the $1.26 per share posted last quarter and $0.02 lower the $0.86 posted in the Q115. Revenue is projected to be $70 million higher than the $1.51 billion posted in the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.86 per share.
As a quick reminder, VMW reported Q415 EPS of $1.26, $0.01 better than the Street’s consensus estimate of $1.25.
The stock closed down 0.08% Monday.
Intel Corporation (INTC) is scheduled to release Q116 earnings after the close today. The Street is looking for EPS of $0.48 and revenue of $13.82 billion. Last quarter, the chip maker posted a significant positive earnings surprise of 17.46%, reporting EPS of $0.74, 11 cents higher than the Street’s consensus estimate of $0.63. Revs came in at $14.9 billion, increasing 1.36% year-over-year. Returning to the co.’s Q1, EarningsWhisper.com reports a whisper number of $0.52 per share.
Intel Corp. recently traded at $31.65, a gain of $0.19 over Monday’s closing price. The name has a current market capitalization of $149.31 billion.
As for passive income investors, the company pays shareholders $1.04 per share annually in dividends, yielding 3.31%. Five year average dividend yield currently stands at 3.27%.
