52-Week Highs: The Hackett Group (HCKT), Radian (RDN), Check Point Software (CHKP), MGIC (MTG), Vimicro Int’l (VIMC), Taser (TASR)

Shares of The Hackett Group, Inc. (HCKT) hit a new 52-week high on Monday, printing the tape at $10.27. That’s a 77.68% rise, or $4.49 per share from the 52-week low of $5.78 set in May 1, 2014.

The stock closed at $9.21 at the end of Friday’s trading session to currently print a one-year return of about 50% and year-to-date return of around 5%.

HCKT is trading at unusually high volume Monday with 191K shares changing hands. It is at more than 3x its average daily volume and trading up 6.89% at $9.85 as of 1:19 PM ET. The average volume of shares traded over the last three months was roughly 61,894K.

Shares of Radian Group Inc. (RDN) soared more than 6% to hit a new 52-week high of $18.18 on Monday on higher-than-average volume. More than 4.80 million shares of the stock have already changed hands, well above the average of 2.20 million for a full session over the past 3-months.

The move is likely related to the publication of final mortgage insurer guidelines from Fannie Mae (FNMA) and Freddie Mac (FMCC) late on Friday.

Stock reaction: RDN shares have performed well over the last year, rising 25.01%. The company’s stock is up nearly 49.26% from the 52-week-low of $12.18 it reached on August 4, 2014.

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (CHKP) climbed 6.32% to a 52-week high of $86.92 on Monday. The move comes on a big volume too with the issue currently trading more than 2.1 million shares, compared to the average volume of 994,389K shares.

The surge came after the data security company reported Q1/15 earnings of $0.95 per share on revenues of $373 million, up 9.0% from a year ago.

Shares of CHKP rose 5.28% to $86.07 in afternoon trading. The 52-week range for the stock is now $60.50 to $86.92. Shares of the 15.90 billion market cap company have risen 23.17% year-over-year and 4.05% year-to-date.

MGIC Investment Corp. (MTG) shares hit one-year high of $10.50 in today’s trading session. The stock has risen 21.89% this year and is continuing its upward trend.

More than 10.73 million shares have changed hands, which dwarfs the average volume of 5.04 million. At current price next resistance is at $10.65. Support is at $10.35.

Vimicro International Corp. (VIMC) shares touched a new 52-week high of $12.37. VIMC shares have jumped 236.31% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.18% in the same period.

The Beijing, China-based firm has a market cap of 314.95 million.

Shares of Taser International Inc. (TASR) hit a new 52-week high on Monday, printing the tape at $30.17. That’s a 188.43% rise, or $19.71 per share from the 52-week low of $10.46 set in Jul 17, 2014.

The stock closed at $28.40 at the end of Friday’s trading session, printing a one-year return of about 59.64% and year-to-date return of around 7.25%.

TASR is trading at unusually high volume Monday with 2.57 million shares changing hands. It is currently at more than 3x its average daily volume and trading up 4.86% at $29.78 as of 1:21 PM ET. The average volume of shares traded over the last three months was roughly 1.61 million.
