SEC Issues Subpoenas As Part of Market Crash Probe

Bloomberg reports that U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement unit has issued subpoenas in an investigation of last week’s stock plunge.

SEC Chairwoman Mary Schapiro told a House Financial Services subcommittee today that the agency is “fully integrated in [its] review of the events of May 6 and will recommend appropriate action” if violations are found. She also said that “A number of subpoenas” were sent, without identifying recipients.
