Does anyone know where I could find the data on how many total “public sector” employees their are nation wide at all levels vs. Private sector?

I wanted to know that too Viratas. For either Canada or the USA.

Did you actually take the five minutes and read the details of the data provided by the BLS, you know, the part where they say in no uncertain terms that you can't make a direct comparison between the public and private sectors? Of course not, that doesn't make hack headlines does it? Too much effort to look at facts rather than just repeat inflammitory stats. The data is for the year to year category to category comparison, not cross category. The groups included in the categories doen't correlate. You might as well compare average salaries and benefits of fishing boat captians to retail store managers. Thanks for serving those who want to misdirect the issue away from how corporate america is using this as an opportunity to shaft people while there seems to be no real belt tightening at the upper level. Keep up the smoke screen.
