About Paula Tkac

Paula A. Tkac is an assistant vice president with the financial group of the research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Dr. Tkac concentrates her research on portfolio management, mutual fund flows, and stock-market trading volume.

Before joining the bank, Dr. Tkac was an assistant professor in the Department of Finance and Business Economics at the University of Notre Dame from 1993 to 2000. Before joining the faculty at Notre Dame, she was a lecturer in the Finance and Economics Departments at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Tkac is a member of the American Economic Association, the American Finance Association, and the Western Finance Association. She has published works in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and Managerial and Decision Economics and has presented papers and served as a discussant at a number of professional conferences.

Dr. Tkac earned her bachelor's degree (with honors), master's degree, and doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago.
