Apple (AAPL) on Sunday aired a new iPad television ad during the 85th Annual Academy Awards. The spot, titled ‘Hollywood‘, highlights Apple’s own iMovie iPad application as well as some of the 300,000+ apps designed specifically for the device.
Like the previous ads, ‘Hollywood‘, which was appropriately themed for filmmakers and is of similar style of Cupertino’s two prior new iPad TV ads, ‘Alive‘ and ‘Together‘, features a variety of fast-paced keywords that popup on the screen in quick succession followed by the apps related to the keyword.
Applications featured in ‘Hollywood’ include the iTunes Store, Instant, Pinterest, Apple Maps, Action Movie FX, and clips from action movies such as, Back to the Future, Apollo 13, and Indiana Jones. The spot also included a brief demo of iMaps showing a 3D animation of the historical Hollywood sign.
