Apple (AAPL) will be launching both an iPhone 5S and a five-inch iPhone 6 this year, investment news service BrightWire reports.
Citing a source of Chinese language mobile phone information site Laoyaoba.com, the report notes that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 have been spotted at Apple suppliers in China. The report also quotes the source, named ‘Old Yao’ on the site, as saying that the iPhone 5S looks a lot like the iPhone 5, while the five-inch iPhone 6 is even ‘lighter and thinner’ than that.
The report also notes that both models may be released this year.
Rumors have been doing the rounds in recent weeks that Apple is working on a larger iPhone. While little else is known about this device at this time, reports continue to point to a 4.8″-5.0″ device coming soon from Apple.
It’ll be interesting to see how this rumor — which like all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt– progresses, considering Cupertino has long defended the iPhone 5’s 4-inch screen size as offering comfortable one-handed use. That said, it doesn’t mean Apple will never aim for a bigger screen.
