Nokia Corp (NOK) is planning to sack around half of the current executive board members as part of a strategy to revamp the world’s biggest mobile phone maker, German weekly WirtschaftsWoche reports. Citing sources, the magazine says Nokia CEO Stephen Elop will ask Chief Development Officer Kai Oistamo, Tero Ojanpera, the manager responsible for services and mobile solutions, and Mary T. McDowell, who is in charge of Nokia’s mobile phones unit, to step down. – MW
