Confidence among consumers rose in December to its highest level since June, on improved job prospects and larger discounts from retailers, a survey released on Thursday showed. The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan final index of consumer sentiment for the month rose to 74.5 from 71.6 in November. The preliminary December reading was 74.2.- Reuters
