U.S. GDP’s growth in the second quarter was revised downward from a July 30 preliminary estimate of 2.4% to 1.6% on an annualized basis, the Bureau of Economic Analysis this morning said, avoiding the worst expectations for a 1% growth rate of some prognosticators. – Barron’s
