Verizon Wireless (VZ) is collaborating with Google Inc. (GOOG) on a tablet computer that would compete with Apple’s iPad (AAPL), according to reports.
Lowell McAdam, Verizon’s chief executive, confirmed today in an interview with the WSJ that his co. was working on a tablet device and called tablets “the next big wave of opportunities.”
“We’re looking at all the things Google (GOOG) has in its archives that we could put on a tablet to make it a great experience,” McAdam said.
It is unclear whether the tablets would be based on Google’s ChromeOS or Android OS.
