Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) shares are up more than 8 points to $258.43 in late morning trading on Monday. The move comes on a big volume too with the issue currently trading more than 3.8 million shares. With no specific news to account for move, the strength could be attributed to a report from ‘The Country Caller‘ on Friday saying the electrical car maker may be developing its own chips.

Shares of Yahoo (YHOO) are up 1.40% this morning on news London’s Daily Mail newspaper and General Trust are in early talks over a bid for the ailing web portal, the Journal reported late Sunday. A spokesman for DailyMail.com confirmed the news to the publication Monday, saying it has “been in discussions with a number of parties who are potential bidders.”

Shares of Toll Brothers (TOL) are feeling a boost today on the back of a positive article in this weekend’s edition of Barron’s. The publication details how the name could jump to $40/shr or more from Friday’s close near $29, noting the home builder’s successful expansion into the New York City luxury condominium market.

Shares of Seagate Tech (STX) are up more than 7% this morning following a positive mention in Barron’s, which said the hard disk drive maker’s 7.6% yield is enticing.

STX was initiated this morning with a ‘Market Perform’ and $36 PT at Cowen.
