Morning Buzz: Tesla (TSLA), Yahoo (YHOO), Virgin America (VA), Edwards Lifesciences (EW)

Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) is up 4% in premarket trading on Monday and it seems that it’s rising on reports that orders for the Tesla Model 3 reached 276,000 late Saturday. The $35K car is due out late in FY2017.

Shares of Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) are higher by 0.88% to $36.80 in early trade following a NY Post report saying that telecom company Softbank (SFTBY) is in “active” discussions with Yahoo’s board, which includes Chief Executive Marissa Mayer” to gain control of various Yahoo assets.

“They are figuring out a solution for the whole,” a source told the publication, adding, “Things are quite active.”

Virgin America Inc. (VA) spiking 38 percent following this morning’s reports saying the company will be acquired by Alaska Air Group Inc. The parent company of Alaska Airlines (ALK) said it would pay $57 a share in cash for Virgin, a 47% premium to Virgin’s Friday’s close, representing a total equity value of $2.6 billion.

Shares of Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (EW) spiked up by more than 13 percent on Monday after the company announced its PARTNER II Trial met primary endpoint.
