Notable Upgrades: Taser (TASR), bluebird bio (BLUE), Sally Beauty Holdings (SBH), Wal-Mart (WMT), Shopify Inc. (SHOP)

Analysts at Ladenburg Thalmann are out with a report this morning upgrading shares of Taser International Inc. (TASR) with a ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ rating.

In the past 52 weeks, shares of Scottsdale, Arizona-based electrical weapons maker have traded between a low of $16.74 and a high of $35.95 and are now at $18.41.

Shares are down 14.10% year-over-year and 36.71% year-to-date.

In a report published Wednesday, Goldman Sachs (GS) analysts initiated coverage on bluebird bio, Inc. (BLUE) with a ‘Buy’ rating.

Currently there are 11 analysts that rate BLUE a ‘Buy’ versus no analysts rating it a ‘Sell’. BLUE has a median Wall Street price target of $163 with a high target of $204.

Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. (SBH) was raised to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ at Goldman on Wednesday.

SBH is up $0.28 at $25.26 on normal volume. Midway through trading Wednesday, 1.88 million shares of Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. have exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 2.54 million shares. The stock has ranged in a price between $25.04 to $26.09 after having opened the day at $26.09.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) was reiterated an ‘Equal Weight’ by Barclays analysts on Wednesday. The firm raised its price target on the stock to $61 from $59. Wal-Mart was also raised to $63 from $57 at MKM Partners.

Shopify Inc. (SHOP) was upgraded to ‘Outperform’ from ‘Market Perform’ by Raymond James analysts on Wednesday.

SHOP began trading this morning at $27.23 to currently trade 3.07% higher from the prior days close of $26.39. On an intraday basis it has gotten as low as $26.50 and as high as $27.50.
