Google Inc (GOOGL) is testing drone system for deliveries, according to reports. Google shares, valued at $392 billion and currently priced at 30.38x this year’s forecasted earnings, opened at $582.35. In the past 52 weeks, shares of the search giant have traded between a low of $422.16 and a high of $615.42 and are now trading at $578.80. Shares are up 35.22% year-over-year, and 3.21% year-to-date.

Microsoft’s (MSFT) Windows Live Messenger — MSN — shutting down on Oct 31 (still operates in China), according to reports. Microsoft shares, valued at $369.97 billion and currently priced at 16.82x this year’s forecasted earnings, opened at $45.07. In the past 52 weeks, shares of the software giant have traded between a low of $30.95 and a high of $45.71 and are now trading flat at $44.88. Shares are up 33.83% year-over-year, and 20.02% year-to-date.

XP Semiconductors NV (NXPI) will provide Apple (AAPL) with secure near-field communications technology for its next iPhone, according to FT, which cites several people familiar with the iphone-maker’s plans. Shares of the Dutch chip-maker trading in New York are up 1.70% following the report.
