A judge’s order to freeze Chevron (NYSE:CVX) assets in Argentina has been overturned by the country’s Supreme court, paving the way for Chevron to move forward with a $1.5B shale oil and gas venture with YPF (NYSE:YPF).
Monsanto (NYSE:MON) is getting sued by a Kansas farmer after his discovery of genetically modified wheat in Oregon. He claims the company’s negligence held down wheat prices and forced international markets to suspend certain imports, thus hurting US consumers. It could potentially be the first of many lawsuits of its kind.
Samsung finally won a patent dispite with Apple, which will result in a ban on older iPhones and iPads. The ITC ruled that the products violate a standards-essential Samsung (SSNLF.PK) patent, and there will now be a limited U.S. ban on AT&T’s (NYSE:T) versions of Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 phones, and the 3G iPad 1 and 2.
