Google Search Market Share Supremacy Continues

According to a report from Nielsen Online, an independent company specifically involved in measurements and analysis of online audiences, video and consumer-generated media - Google Inc. topped again the U.S. Internet search rankings in May.

Yahoo Inc. meanwhile came a distant second followed by Microsoft’s MSN/Windows Live and Time Warner’s AOL Search.

- Mountain View, California-based Google saw its shares of the U.S. online search market grow by 15.4% on a year-over-year basis to 59.3% in May - recording this way 4.7 billion search queries.

- Conversely, Yahoo Inc. had its search market shares slip to 16.9% with 1.33 billion searches, followed by Microsoft Corp. coming in the third place, with a gain of 13.3% and Time Warner’s AOL Search fourth - claiming only 4.1% of the market share.

Google’s dominance in the Internet search market continues to persist.
