Christian Broda is an Associate Professor at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. He holds his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Universidad de San Andres.
He currently is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), Associate Editor of the Journal of Development Economics, and the James S. Kemper Foundation Scholar for 2006.
His research addresses issues in international trade, finance, and macroeconomics. Recent articles include "Globalization and the Gains from Variety," “Optimal Tariff: The Evidence,” and "Coping with Terms of Trade: Peg versus Float". He has published his papers in leading economics journals, including the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economis and the Journal of International Economics.
