Benjamin F. Jones is an Associate Professor of Management and Strategy at the Kellogg School of Management, where he teaches about globalization and business strategy in emerging markets. He is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Professor Jones’s research considers obstacles to growth in developing countries, with recent work considering subjects such as national leadership, higher education, and climate change. He further studies technological progress in advanced economies, with recent work examining the age-creativity relationship and the role of collaboration in innovation. His research articles have appeared in academic journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Science, and have been profiled in media outlets such as CNN, The Economist, Time Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal. A former Rhodes Scholar, Professor Jones earlier served in the U.S. Treasury during the Clinton Administration.
