George Soros, the seventh-richest person in America, plans to marry again after getting engaged to his girlfriend Tamiko Bolton, The New York Post reports.
The legendary investor announced his engagement to family and friends gathered at his house in Southampton on Long Island yesterday as he celebrated his 82nd birthday.
A source told The Post “George planned a surprise announcement to his assembled friends and family at his birthday party last night. He told them he and Tamiko are engaged and plan to marry next summer in Southampton”. Journalist Jane Bryant Quinn and Blackstone’s (BX) Byron Wien were in attendance Saturday as Soros delivered the news.
Soros proposed to Bolton, 40, with an engagement ring by Graff earlier this summer in the garden of his summer home in the Hamptons, a beachside colony on Long Island frequented by New York’s wealthy. The couple met in the spring of 2008 at a luncheon in New York. No wedding date has been set.
Bolton, who has an MBA from the University of Miami, is a health-care and education consultant that most recently developed a Web-based yoga-education platform. The attractive brunette is the daughter of a Japanese-American nurse and a retired naval commander.
When asked if there is a pre-nup, Soros’ attorney William D. Zabel told The Post: “It is well known that Mr. Soros will leave the bulk of his estate to charity but he intends to provide generously for his wife.”
This is Soros’ third marriage and Bolton’s second.
Soros is chairman of New York-based Soros Fund Management LLC, which last reported having about $25 billion in assets.

Tamiko Bolton said that she will marry the one of her lovers who can bring a bucket of water to her. One tries …not successful, second tries …not successful. Then comes Mr. Soros, the villain, with a marine knot to the bucket.
